Youth Kashmir witnessed complete shutdown on Tuesday to protest against the death of Udhampur petrol bomb attack victim Zahid Ahmad Bhat. Meanwhile, CRPF personnel reportedly thrashed JKLF chief Yasin Malik and other separatist leaders at Batengo village. Malik was leading an anti-India protest demonstration.
Along with dozens of supporters, Malik reached Zahid’s village on Tuesday morning, leading a protest march against the killing. However, CRPF men blocked his way, and chased away his associates. Malik was taken into custody and detained in Anantnag police station.
Later, JKLF supporters clashed with the police in Maisuma locality when news of Malik’s arrest reached the city.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in south Kashmir in protest against Zahid’s death for the third day.
