Three policemen attached to the Maneri police station in Uttarkashi district were suspended on Wednesday after news spread that a local woman who had earlier been “converted to Islam“ by her “kidnapper“ was brought there for the ritual purification ceremony .
Sources said the cops were present in the thana on Tuesday as Ganga jal was brought to symbolically “purify“ her.
