Riot-displaced given 3-day ultimatum to leave camps

Muzaffarnagar (UP),14 June: Displaced villagers who have been living in camps on government land in the neighbouring Shamli district since the Muzaffarnagar communal riots in September last year have been asked to vacate them within three days by authorities.
Subdivisional Magistrate Suresh Kumar Mishra today said that a team of government officials visited the camps yesterday and “appealed” to the riot-displaced people to return to their native villages within three days.
